Tramada has long utilised proven open source technologies such as the Linux operating system and the Apache web server. By using open source technology and focussing on excellent engineering, Tramada was able to offer the Australian travel industry’s first cloud based mid office system, and to make this offering at a great price.

 

The Next Generation Tramada system builds on this tradition with the best of open source technology by continuing to use Linux and Apache, and now adding MySQL,  JBoss  and a new web application developed using the Java platform.

 

Next Gen is completely Java based combining excellent engineering with proven components such as Apache CXF (web service integrations), Quartz (scheduling) and Jasper (Document generation).

 

Java is now a well proven language with thousands if not millions of applications worldwide running on billions of devices from personal computers to smart phones. It works extremely well and has around 6.5 million developers ensuring platform stability and it results in great software built fast.

 

MySQL has long been a favourite of web developers, and with recent improvements in transaction handling and performance it is now ready for applications that require serious load and 24 hour availability. Next generation Tramada uses MySQL realtime replication to keep databases at separate geographical locations synchronised so our client’s data is safe.

 

The Business Objects business intelligence suite is used to deliver the comprehensive range of reports available in the Tramada system. A clear leader in business intelligence applications, Business Objects is a solid solution to deliver both operational and data warehouse reporting.
